How SAM handles Medical Records.

SAM was built by a family, for families. These are the rules it follows, in plain words. Its protections are part of how it works, not a setting you have to find.

SAM's promises

Only with your permission

SAM connects to a patient portal only when you authorize it, and it only reads. It never writes to a health system.

The source, one tap away

Every fact SAM states about you links to the Medical Record it came from, with the exact words it used highlighted.

Never a diagnosis

SAM explains and organizes. It doesn't diagnose, prescribe or change medicines. Your clinicians make the decisions.

Trusted medical sources

General health answers cite approved sources, such as the CDC, NIH, FDA and MedlinePlus, by name.

You choose who sees what

Your family decides who can see each person's Medical Records, and how much.

Recording only with consent

SAM records a visit only when everyone in the room agrees.

Disagreements stay visible

When 2 sources disagree, SAM shows both and asks you, instead of guessing which one is right.

The details, in writing.

SAM's terms of use set out how SAM works and what you agree to when you use it.

Read SAM's terms

This website collects only what you type into its 2 forms, and never asks for health information.
